Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night singing or humming songs that you heard earlier in the day? I’ve had a few songs lately that I’ve been waking up hearing….
I got sucked into this one when I saw the tags for Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. I’ve had a post brewing about Amy and Michael that will probably sit on the sidelines for another time, but the short form version is this. One of my first concerts was Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago in 1987. Kind of a Christian version of “Monsters of Rock” when I look back on it now. Long after that concert, I came across Amy’s song “Lead Me On,” which she wrote with Michael. Still one of the most powerful songs that always seems to put me in a good place when it comes up on my Ipod.
I totally hear songs in my head, frequently. I wish that I could say that it was always a song that I’ve heard recently. More often, it is a song that pops into my head, that I’m blanking on who it is by. But I know that I own it. And I have to figure it out, or it drives me crazy the entire day!!
