Episode 78: The Grand Illusion

No, we’re not talking about the music of the band Styx, we’re actually talking about dieting….

  1. Matt Wardlaw says:

So, should I have a Krispy Kreme donut in your honor? Parma isn’t that far away to go get it straight from the source…

  2. kevin says:

Please do! If I can’t enjoy, I always encourage people to enjoy for me! Although if I remember correctly, the Krispy Kreme Boston Creme Pie donuts aren’t one of their best. I never thought their creme filling had much flavor…

  3. Blackburn says:

Well, good sir, you keep fighting the good fight against all things delicious! In the mean time, if you need me, I’ll be eating an entire chocolate-swirl cheesecake. By myself. Hell, I might even douse it with magic shell and rainbow sprinkles, just for good measure.

  4. kevin says:

Enjoy! I think I think I’m gonna have some raspberry cheesecake, myself…. raspberry cheesecake fat free yogurt 🙂

  5. Matt Wardlaw says:

I actually haven’t had a Krispy Kreme donut in quite a while….but I’ve had plenty of other non-diet smart things to make up for that. Planning to hit the gym again starting Monday (maybe even tomorrow) to stop the workout slackoff.

The challenge is gone now that KK donuts are in every gas station….used to be more fun when you actually had to drive significant distance to get them. Of course, I think a lot of things are that way….something I grew to appreciate during my time living in the mountains of New Mexico 🙂

  6. kevin says:

I try to stay away from Krispy Kreme’s if at all possible. I actually have a Krispy Kreme shop about 2 miles from the Nashville office, and have never been.

I agree though, they don’t seem quite as special now that they can be found in every grocery and convenience store.

Years of working in radio didn’t help my addiction to donuts or bagels. They always seem to be laying around….

  7. Matt Wardlaw says:

Don’t I know that. Radio – besides getting free CDs as a 20something kid, you couldn’t ever complain about all the people that would bring food, food, and more food! I think I mighta starved otherwise, because I certainly wasn’t making enough money to eat 🙂
