You’re right – far too many musicians get a glimpse of what their career could look like in the future, and want to skip the “steps to success” in order to get there faster. I guess we almost cultivate that behavior, seeing that we live a “hits per minute,” society – trying to make the most of each quick impression.
But, as you know, that’s not as effective as constantly being there with the same message, building fans at each show. The internet has the potential, and has built a fanbase overnight, but that’s not the case most of the time. It’s simply a communications tool that allows us to reach out and touch multiple individuals with that unified message, and to sustain a conversation with each and every one of them.
